Overview of Succes planners

Succes planners

So, planners. We’re all addicted to ring-binders in some form ... whether you toss your pocket or mini planner into your handbag ore are more a traditional 'personal' user, or you're like me and you like your planners big and bulky (a5, a4), we all have our preferences. If you're a beginner and you start to research the topic you quickly find the Filofax brand. Which is an amazing brand with very many choices in different price ranges. I'd like to introduce you to one of the many alternatives. This blog is not set up to take you away from Filofax as a brand, but to introduce you to another brand which might also peek your interest :) - Enjoy!

History:
So I started using planners at university. I used a 'pocket' sized Succes agenda. Mainly because it is so easily available here in The Netherlands. Practically any book store sells them. They come in a great variety of colours shapes, sizes and prices. The company who makes these was founded in 1982 in The Netherlands. And in The Netherlands these planners are used quite regularly. I'm not sure if they are any popular beyond the country but who knows.

Sizes:
So, Succes. Like Filofax they come in different sizes and the sizes can be compared to Filofax sizes.

Here you can see the sizes Succes offers. The largest (green) is the executive A5 size which is the same as filofax A5. The grey is 'Office' which is just as high but a bit more narrow than the A5. Yellow is standard which is the same as personal. Purple is senior, orange is compact, lime is junior (=pocket) and pink is mini.

As you can see, plenty of sizes to choose from. If you click the picture you can see the sizes displayed in mm.

Styles
There are many different styles of Sucess which you can divide up into categories.

1) Fashion Collection.

This collection features a lot of
nicely coloured, mostly leather planners in different sizes. Just to show you what you can expect in this category I've included some pictures. What I like in this category is that the are all a little special. They have some motive in the leather and they come in a variety of different colours.

2) Business Collection.

This category has planners that are less 'frilly' than the fashion ones. Usually nice luxury leather in one colour. They come in more than just black and brown though. So you're bound to find a colour that suits you best.

3) NewMe Collection.

These were the first planners I had. I believe they do not come in a size lager than 'Junior' (=pocket) But they are so cute. Most of them are a real nice leather and they're quite 'youthful'.  They are also the cheapest line of Succes planners. Perhaps that is why during my 6 years of college I bought 5 :). They range from nicely coloured ones as shown above, to completely insane design such as this:

(I had a similar one with a cow once .. I loved it:P)

Cost:
What do they cost? Well it is very different. The NewMe's run from about 20 euro's. The largest most expensive ones are about 200 euro's and everything in between.

Refills:
The refills for the Succes planners are similar to filofax. You can buy diaries, plastic folders, creditcard holders, to do lists etc. etc. :) And of course if you wish, you can put filofax or other papers in the planner if you buy the same size.
