Fjällräven Kånken

Fjällräven Kånken

So, as many know I love my Fjallraven backpacks (yes I own multiple ...) and since I already persuaded some to also give in to the Kånken -cult. I thought It very fitting to do a little blog about my Kånken and how I carry my planner-related stuff in it.

The Kånken backpacks were launched in 1978 as a response to school children/teens having more and more back problems from carrying their schoolbooks in a book bag (shoulder bag). The Kånken backpacks became really famous because they are decent sturdy backpacks that can last you a long time. In Northern Europe the backpacks are very regularly seen on the street, and it is not uncommon to 'inherit' your mothers Kånken from when she went to school :)

Today Kånken come in an insane amount of colours and sizes (seriously ... insane). There is the classic one which is the same since 1978, but there's also a mini, a large and three sizes of laptop bags. To find out more on this awesome and pretty bag go to www.ilovemykanken.com where you can order them (free shipping world wide!).

Ok, so I own a few of these and let me show you how I use my graphite Kånken on a regular basis.

So, here is what I bring to work every day. From the top left where there is handcream and a pouch with painkillers and lady products, then my Midori Travelers Notebook, my A5 planner, my water bottel Dopper, the Legoblock contains my lunch, my Kipling pencase, my smaller pencase some keys and my wallet.

Does tha tall go in there? Jup, easy :)

So, I put my A5 planner in the back of my pack. Sometimes I take out the back seating patch. But it also fits fine when I leave it in.

And the rest I basically just stack in like this. Because the pack is almost squared it can lie open like this and you can reach the bottom of the pack without having to take everything out first.

Wallet and keys go in the front pouch for easy access.

Zip it all up and you are good to go!

Some people have said the side pouch won't contain a bottle of water. It will but the trick is not to put any hard objects on the inside of the bag on the side where you want to put your bottle. As you can see from this picture the bottle also pushes the bag inwards, so you need a bit of space left in the bag to add the bottle. Usually I just tilt mine side ways .. shake it a bit .. and I have enough room for my bottle :)

That's it! I love my Kanken and I'm sure if you're deciding on getting one you will too.
